A functional system regulation approach using a spiritual growth-orientated learning model can promote optimal psychosocial health and help individuals reach their full potential. This approach recognizes the universal nature of worship and praise and can be used to help students with FSD dysregulation enjoy learning again [b].

Every individual is unique and their learning and development can be impacted by a wide range of physical, mental, and emotional factors. It is important to recognize and address any underlying issues that may be affecting a person’s ability to learn, such as physical health problems, mental health conditions, or low self-esteem and confidence. Among these things are their feelings, moods, beliefs, coping strategies, learning styles, and relationships with family and friends. Providing support and resources to help individuals overcome these challenges can be key to unlocking their full potential and promoting their overall well-being. This may involve working with healthcare professionals, mental health experts, or educators to develop personalized plans that address the specific needs and challenges of each individual.

In addition, it is important to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports diversity, encourages creativity, and values individual strengths and abilities. By recognizing and celebrating each person’s unique qualities and perspectives, we can help to foster a sense of belonging and engagement that can support their learning and development over the long term. 

According to the American Psychological Association, perceived competence is a belief that one has skills in a particular area (e.g., math, spelling, peer relationships). Self-esteem and perceived competence are necessary for students to take risks in their learning and to bounce back after failure or adversity. Low self-esteem or lack of confidence leaves students doubting their ability to succeed, making them hesitant to engage in learning or take appropriate academic growth risks. Self-esteem is often built and buttressed through estimable acts and achievements—even small ones. It is also important to consider the role of different learning styles and preferences, and to provide opportunities for individuals to engage with material in a way that works best for them. While some individuals may benefit from a less traditional approach to learning, others may thrive in more creative or hands-on environments. It is also important to recognize that learning and development are complex processes that are influenced by a wide range of factors, including physical, cognitive, emotional, and social factors. While spiritual practices and self-directed neuroplasticity may be helpful for some individuals, it is important to take a holistic approach that considers all of these factors and recognizes that each individual is unique in their learning needs and preferences.

The universal nature of worship and praise of God. It emphasizes the idea that God is not limited by culture, language, or geography, and that people from all backgrounds and cultures can come together to worship and praise God. This unity in diversity is an important aspect of the Christian faith, as it reflects the broader message of God’s love for all people, regardless of their cultural or ethnic background. Researching and implementing worship and praise and how it affects a student’s thoughts should be the topic of future research. This includes but is not limited to their feelings, moods, beliefs, ways of coping, learning, and relationships with family, friends, and peers. Praise has been found to be a powerful tool in the development of a student’s emotional and psychological well-being. Students are shown to exhibit higher levels of confidence, a sense of self-worth, and a sense of motivation after participating in this activity. 

The act of worship is indeed an important aspect of the Christian faith, as it helps individuals to connect with God, express their adoration and praise, and live a holy and fulfilling life. By recognizing God’s attributes, expressing gratitude and thanksgiving, serving others, and striving to live a holy life, individuals can deepen their relationship with God and grow in their faith.

Overall, the universal nature of worship and praise of God emphasizes the importance of recognizing and celebrating diversity within the body of Christ, and coming together to worship and praise God in unity. This can help to promote greater understanding and respect among people from different cultures and backgrounds, and help to build a stronger, more compassionate, and more loving community.

Cook’s Call For Research

It is important to recognize that individuals are unique and may require different types of support and resources in order to reach their full potential, particularly in the area of psychosocial health. A holistically spiritual approach to teaching, learning, and development can be beneficial in promoting optimal psychosocial health. Future research should explore the psychosocial effects of worship and praise, particularly in terms of changes in how students think and feel, as well as their moods, beliefs, coping mechanisms, learning abilities, and relationships with family, friends, and peers. This research can inform the development of a functional and attentional related spiritual approach, which recognizes the universal nature of worship and praise, and its potential to promote optimal psychosocial health [a].

By incorporating a spiritual growth-orientated learning model, individuals can develop a deeper understanding of their unique gifts, talents, strengths, and needs, which can lead to a greater sense of purpose, meaning, and fulfillment in life. This approach can also promote the development of positive character traits, such as empathy, compassion, and a sense of community, which can positively impact the individual’s relationships and interactions with others.

A functional system regulation approach using a spiritual growth-orientated learning model, which recognizes the universal nature of worship and praise, has the potential to promote optimal psychosocial health and help individuals reach their full potential. Future research can inform the development of this approach and help to identify the unique needs of individuals. 

In summary, the Christian faith emphasizes the idea that God is not limited by culture, language, or geography, and that people from all backgrounds can worship and praise God. The topic of this future research is how worship and praise affect a student’s thoughts, feelings, moods, beliefs, ways of coping, learning, and relationships with family, friends, and peers. Worship helps individuals to connect with God, express their adoration and praise, and live a holy and fulfilling life. It also helps to promote greater understanding and respect among people from different cultures and backgrounds. 

Therefore, for one’s psychosocial health it is important to take a holistically spiritual approach to teaching, learning, and development. There needs to be research that will recognize each individual’s uniqueness(es) and may require different types of support and resources such as a functional and attentional related spiritual approach of “the universal nature of worship and praise.” Specifically, this future research is how worship and praise has psychosocial effects and changes in how a student thinks including but not limited to their feelings, moods, beliefs, ways of coping, learning, and relationships with family, friends, and peers.

For effective learning and communication, it is thought to occur when all of our systems and senses are functioning in a balanced and activated state [a]. The limbic system is responsible for emotions, motivation, and memory. The reptilian brain is responsible for instinctual and survival-based behaviors. The reptilian brain is responsible for regulating basic bodily functions such as breathing, heart rate, and body temperature. It is also responsible for instinctual and survival-based behaviors [8]. The limbic system is responsible for emotions, motivation, and memory. It includes structures such as the amygdala, hippocampus, and thalamus. The neocortex is responsible for higher cognitive functions such as perception, thought, and language.  It is what sets humans apart from other animals and allows us to think abstractly and engage in complex social interactions [2]. 

Speaking of the limbic system is responsible for emotions, anger can lead to a range of negative consequences, both for the individual experiencing it and those around them [11]. Some short-term effects of anger related to the reptilian brain include increased heart rate, blood pressure, and stress hormones, which can lead to physical health problems such as heart disease, hypertension, and digestive issues. As well, for neocortex anger can also negatively affect relationships, leading to conflict, aggression, and social isolation. In the long-term, unresolved anger can lead to chronic resentment, bitterness, and emotional problems such as anxiety and depression [4].

It is important to approach the topic of well-being with an open and critical mind, and to seek out evidence-based approaches to promoting alternative health, well-being and emotions. A popular theory used to conceptualize brain functioning is the triune brain theory. The triune brain theory is an evolutionary theory of brain development that emphasizes three key brain regions consisting of the brainstem, the limbic system, and the cortex that function relatively independently in coping with stress via fight or flight, emotion, and cognition, respectively. However, modern neuroscience research demonstrates that the triune brain theory does not accurately explain how the brain functions in everyday life or during the stress response [10]. 

Specifically, emotion and cognition are interdependent and work together, the limbic system is not a purely emotional center nor are there purely emotional circuits in the brain, and the cortex is not a purely cognitive center nor are there purely cognitive circuits in the brain. We propose a new evolutionarily based model, the adaptive brain, that is founded on adaptive prediction resulting from interdependent brain networks using interoception and exteroception to balance current needs, and the interconnections among homeostasis, allostasis, emotion, cognition, and strong social bonds in accomplishing adaptive goals [10].

Consciousness is not a process in the brain but a kind of behavior that, of course, is controlled by the brain like any other behavior. Human consciousness emerges on the interface between three components of animal behavior: communication, play, and the use of tools [10]. These three components interact on the basis of anticipatory behavioral control, which is common for all complex forms of animal life. All three do not exclusively distinguish our close relatives, i.e., primates, but are broadly presented among various species of mammals, birds, and even cephalopods; however, their particular combination in humans is unique [6]. 

The interaction between communication and play yields symbolic games, most importantly language; the interaction between symbols and tools results in human praxis. Taken together, this gives rise to a mechanism that allows a creature, instead of performing controlling actions overtly, to play forward the corresponding behavioral options in a second reality of objectively (by means of tools) grounded symbolic systems [6]. The theory possesses the following properties: (1) It is anti-reductionist and anti-eliminativist, and yet, human consciousness is considered as a purely natural (biological) phenomenon. (2) It avoids epiphenomenalism and indicates in which conditions human consciousness has evolutionary advantages, and in which it may even be disadvantageous. (3) It allows to easily explain the most typical features of consciousness, such as objectivity, seriality and limited resources, the relationship between consciousness and explicit memory, the feeling of conscious agency, etc. [6]. Note: Both of these thoughts are commonly used in psychology, theology, and philosophy in which a general sense of conscience underlies all of our experiences and perceptions, while our consciousness is a more focused consciousness that allows us to attend to specific objects or situations.    

Cook’s Call For More Research 

There needs to be more research: Exploring how the concept of ‘prudential personalism’ can provide insights into the relationship between conscious memory and conscious agency, and understanding why this concept can help to further develop the concept of provisional thinking and prudence.” [b]. Prudential personalism emphasizes the importance of making practical and wise decisions that take into account the unique needs and circumstances of the individual person, as well as the common good of society. Prudence, is known as “skillful understanding” or discernment.  in the OT “prudence” is the tr of עָרְמָה, ‛ormāh (Prov 8:12); also in AV of שֶׂכֶל, sekhel (2 Ch 2:12, RV “discretion”); and “prudent” is the tr of עָרוּם, ‛ārūm, “subtle” (Prov 12:16, 23; 13:16, etc; cf Gen 3:1; Job 5:12), and of בִּין, bīn (1 S 16:18, RVm “skilful”; Prov 16:21; 18:15; Isa 5:21; 10:13, ARV “understanding,” etc); Personalism is a philosophical and ethical theory that emphasizes the intrinsic value and dignity of the human person. According to this theory, the ultimate goal or purpose of human life is the flourishing of the individual person, which involves developing one’s capacities, pursuing one’s interests and goals, and living in a community with others. This focus on the person as an individual and on the importance of community relationships is what gives personalism its name “prudential personalism” [1, 7].  

From a biblical perspective, “prudential personalism” can draw on teachings and principles from the Old and New Testaments that emphasize the importance of “practical wisdom, compassion, and justice.” Prudential personalism says like anger, shame can be overcome, and that those who have experienced shame will ultimately receive joy and blessings.  There are many theologians and believers who understand the creation story in Genesis as a literal account of how the world came into being. This view is often associated with a religious perspective that emphasizes the divine authority and inspiration of scripture. From this perspective, the opening phrase of Genesis, “bere’shith,” is often interpreted as referring to a specific, absolute beginning of all time, including the creation of the universe and everything in it. However, there are also other interpretations of the phrase “bere’shith,” which suggest a more symbolic or metaphorical reading of the creation story. Some scholars and theologians argue that the creation story in Genesis should be understood as a poetic and symbolic account of God’s relationship to the world and humanity, rather than a literal description of historical events [5].

In these alternative interpretations, the phrase “bere’shith” may be understood as referring to a nonspecific, general beginning of God’s work of creation “the consciousness”, rather than a specific and absolute beginning of all time. These interpretations often emphasize the spiritual and theological significance of the creation story, rather than its historical accuracy. Ultimately, the interpretation of the phrase “bere’shith” and the creation story in Genesis depends on one’s religious or philosophical beliefs and interpretations. Different interpretations can coexist and be valid from different perspectives [3, 5]. 


Overall, prudential personalism can provide a valuable framework for understanding the relationship between consciousness, memory, and emotions, and for making practical and wise decisions that promote personal flourishing and the common good. The Bible teaches the importance of controlling one’s anger and dealing with it in a healthy and constructive manner. It emphasizes the importance of positive behaviors such as patience, forgiveness, and love, and discourages negative behaviors such as impulsiveness, bitterness, and vengeance. In the New Testament, Jesus teaches about the importance of loving one’s neighbor as oneself, and he demonstrates this love through his compassion and healing of those in need. The Apostle Paul also writes about the importance of using our gifts and abilities in service to others, and of treating others with kindness and respect. The Bible teaches that shame can be overcome through faith, trust in God, and positive actions. It emphasizes the importance of seeking God and his guidance in difficult times, and encourages believers to have confidence and hope in the face of shame or other challenges. These are just a few examples of the positive emotions mentioned in the Bible. There are many others, and the Bible encourages people to cultivate positive emotions as part of their relationship with God and with others.

One of the key features of prudential personalism is its rejection of total subjectivism, which is the idea that all truth and morality are purely subjective and vary from person to person. Personalists argue that there is an objective norm for human flourishing, which is grounded in the nature of the human person as a rational, social, and spiritual being. This norm provides a standard for evaluating actions and decisions, and for ensuring that individual flourishing is pursued in a way that is consistent with the common good [1, 7].

Personalism also recognizes the importance of spirituality and the supernatural dimension of human existence. For personalists, spiritual growth and development are essential aspects of human flourishing, and the pursuit of the good life involves a deepening relationship with God and others. This recognition of the importance of spirituality is why personalism emphasizes the need for excellent spiritual care and why personalists believe that not every means possible should be used to preserve physical life, if that means sacrificing spiritual well-being [1, 7].

The conscience is a key concept in “prudential personalism”, as it is viewed as the inner voice or feeling that guides individuals in determining the rightness or wrongness of their actions. Personalists believe that the Holy Spirit can guide and direct the conscience in specific situations, providing guidance, encouragement, and comfort that can enhance the learning process. Consciousness, on the other hand, can refer to either a general state of awareness or a specific, focused awareness of a particular thing or situation, which can also be directed and guided by the HolySpirit. With prudence, personalists believe that individuals can develop their conscience and consciousness in ways that promote their own flourishing and the common good  [3, 5].

Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in the DSM-5 is the manual used by mental health professionals to diagnose mental disorders. Overall, the DSM-5 criteria for ADHD is designed to ensure that the diagnosis is accurate and that other potential causes of the individual’s symptoms are ruled out before a diagnosis of ADHD is made.  

According to the DSM-5, used to diagnose ADHD, the symptoms of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity must meet certain criteria, which includes that the symptoms are not better explained by another mental disorder such as a mood disorder, anxiety disorder, dissociative disorder, or personality disorder. This criterion is important because there are many mental disorders that can cause symptoms similar to those of ADHD, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder. However, the symptoms of ADHD are distinct and are not better accounted for by these other mental disorders [2]. 

It is important to approach the topic of well-being with an open and critical mind, and to seek out evidence-based approaches to promoting alternative health and well-being. There is some research suggesting that these areas of the body and activities can contribute to overall well-being and play important roles in various bodily functions and may impact overall health: PONS (pons varolii), RAS (reticular activating system), and thymus gland. 

The thymus gland is a small organ located in the chest that plays an important role in the immune system and overall metabolism of energy which controls your growth and metabolism (how your body uses energy). [8].  The RAS, or reticular activating system, is a network of neurons in the brainstem that is involved in regulating wakefulness, attention, and arousal [1]. There is some evidence to suggest that promoting healthy RAS activity through practices such as getting enough sleep, engaging in regular physical activity, and practicing mindfulness may be beneficial for overall health [6]. The PONS, or pons varolii, is a part of the brainstem that plays a role in various bodily functions, including breathing, sleep, and movement [7]. There is some evidence to suggest that promoting healthy PONS activity through practices such as deep breathing, meditation, and physical exercise may be beneficial for overall health and well-being  [6]. 

Cook’s Call For Research

 There is limited research on the impact of promoting healthy activity on overall well-being within the context of resistance: a relationship [b]; a person’s functional system of electricity; and negative emotions such as anger and shame [a]. Regressive anger is a term that refers to a type of anger expression that involves a shift towards a less mature or less adaptive mode of expression [5]. This type of anger expression is often associated with a lack of self-regulation, impulsivity, and a tendency to act out in ways that are harmful to oneself or others. Regressive anger can lead to feelings of shame, guilt, and low self-esteem. This is because the expression of anger in a regressive way often involves behaviors that are not consistent with our values and beliefs, which can lead to a sense of dissonance [3], meaning inner turmoil and resistance [2].

NOTE: Resistance can be applied in various contexts, and refers to the opposition or obstruction of something within a relationship or bodily system. In the physics of electricity, resistance refers to a measure of the opposition to current flow within a circuit. This can occur when electrons encounter obstacles to their flow, such as in a resistor or an imperfect conductor (negative emotions). The higher the resistance, the more difficult it is for current to flow through the circuit [4].  Again, more research is needed in these areas of alternative health and wellness.

How can we achieve this state of Being for ourselves? Self Realization is a term that is becoming increasingly more widely used. Why Yada, Yada, Yada
THE HEBREW WORD yada’ AND THE GREEK WORDS ginoskein, proginoskein, AND prognosis. The word yada’ may simply mean “to know” or “to take cognizance” of someone or something, but may also be used in the more pregnant sense of “taking knowledge of one with loving care,” or “making one the object of loving care or elective love.” In this sense it serves the idea of election, Gen. 18:19; Amos 3:2; Hos. 13:5. The meaning of the words proginoskein and prognosis in the New Testament is not determined by their usage in the classics, but by the special meaning of yada’. They do not denote simple intellectual foresight or prescience, the mere taking knowledge of something beforehand, but rather a selective knowledge which regards one with favor and makes one an object of love, and thus approaches the idea of foreordination, Acts 2:23 (comp. 4:28); Rom. 8:29; 11:2; 1 Peter 1:2. These passages simply lose their meaning, if the words be taken in the sense of simply taking knowledge of one in advance, for God foreknows all men in that sense. Even Arminians feel constrained to give the words a more determinative meaning, namely, to foreknow one with absolute assurance in a certain state or condition. In the OT, there are five main groups of words that convey the ideas of “praise” and “thanksgiving.” The most frequently occurring word for this concept 1) is the verb הָלַל (hālal, “to praise”); its family also includes 2) the noun תְּהִלָּה (tĕhillâ, “praise”). Lastly, ἐξομολογέω (exomologeō). vb. to confess, profess, offer praise. REASONS
יָדָה (yādâ). vb. to give thanks, praise. Describes the act of giving thanks and praise to God. This verb primarily refers to giving thanks; the majority instances of yādâ in the OT are in Psalms. Like other terms with similar meanings, yādâ is often accompanied by an explanation of the reason for the thanks or praise. Reasons for which people thank (yādâ) God include the birth of Leah’s son (Gen 29:35), the righteous rules of God (Psa 99:3), the righteousness of God (Psa 7:17), the goodness of God (Psa 54:6), and the great and holy name of God (Psa 99:3). The verb can be used in an exhortation inviting people to thank (yādâ) God, as in Psa 97:12: “Be glad in Yahweh, you righteous, and give thanks (yādâ) to his holy name” (see also Psa 30:4; 105:1; 118:29). Why Prudential Pluralism
The theory of prudential personalism allows people to make decisions based on the laws of the bible [God] not by ‘human or worldly laws’! Simply, take this truth and use it to glorify God by choosing Godly solutions to problems by knowing what the bible says and applying it to their everyday life such as marriage, work, education, family upbringing, etc.. Furthermore, prudential personalism emphasizes my own significance, uniqueness without permission of personality, by autonomously (with God, of course), managing personal affairs, governing and discipline themself, and developing a skill and/or good judgment in certain situations. With this new-found prudence, without having any doubt, they can confidently walk by The Spirit and have a life-giving joy.

According to the theory of prudential personalism (prudence), there are THREE reasons, by The Spirit of Might, people open their bibles in times of need: 
⦁ Seeking help for strength, such then finding themselves being counseled on joy and/or interceded somehow into joy.
⦁ Seeking guidance for peace, such then finding themselves being taught about peace, and/or even strengthened in love. 
⦁ Yada! praise and thanksgiving in every way possible!
Therefore, finding the help and guidance that’s best, the bible has three main components of prudential personalization by expression of hypothetical conditions: advice by offering insight, command or instruction for finding capability, or oaths for answering certain requests. 

What are the 3 aspects of the prudential personalization of The Bible? 

  1. Seeking Advice (The Knower or Preserver- helper of strength, guider of peace): a verse in the doctrine including an insight about the management of one’s personal affairs while emphasizing their own significance, uniqueness without permission of personality.
  2. Reinforcing Capability (The Advocate or Maintainer- counselor of joy, teacher of peace): a verse of the doctrine including a command/instruction on one’s ability to govern and discipline oneself; similarly, emphasizing their own significance, uniqueness without permission of personality.
  3. Confirming Request (The Mediator or Deliverer- intercessor of joy, strengthener of love): a verse in the doctrine including an oath directly related to one’s skill and/or good judgment in the use of resources; as well, emphasizing their own significance, uniqueness without permission of personality.

In many ways it is an obscure term, and its meaning is not immediately apparent. How to apply prudential personalism to your life through the bible…

The theory of prudential personalism allows people to make decisions based on the laws of the bible [God] not by ‘human or worldly laws’! Simply, take this truth and use it to glorify God by choosing Godly solutions to problems by knowing what the bible says and applying it to their everyday life such as marriage, work, education, family upbringing, etc.. Furthermore, prudential personalism emphasizes my own significance, uniqueness without permission of personality, by autonomously (with God, of course), managing personal affairs, governing and discipline themself, and developing a skill and/or good judgment in certain situations. With this new-found prudence, without having any doubt, they can confidently walk by The Spirit and have a life-giving joy.

According to the theory of prudential personalism (prudence), there are two reasons people open their bibles in times of need: 

  • Seeking help for strength, such then finding themselves being counseled on joy and/or interceded somehow into joy.
  • Seeking guidance for peace, such then finding themselves being taught about peace, and/or even strengthened in love. 

Therefore, finding the help and guidance that’s best, the bible has three main components of prudential personalization by expression of hypothetical conditions: advice by offering insight, command or instruction for finding capability, or oaths for answering certain requests. 

What are the 3 aspects of the prudential personalization of The Bible? 

1. Seeking Advice (The Knower or Preserver- helper of strength, guider of peace): a verse in the doctrine including an insight about the management of one’s personal affairs while emphasizing their own significance, uniqueness without permission of personality.

After twenty-five years of being in education, I provide tutoring, consulting, and coaching, for children and adults, on neurodiversity including dyslexia and other neurodevelopmental differences. Over the last 15 years, I’ve observed an increasing amount of Neurodevelopmental and Historical/Generational Trauma including affective, behavioral, sensorial, cognitive, physical, mental, and spiritual difficulties and differences . As well, an increased number of people being medicated, misdiagnosed, or going undiagnosed; Note, between 1998 and 2018, the number of people diagnosed with autism has jumped by 787%. Therefore, I have developed a neuropedagogy studying the progeny of intergenerational emotions that includes my observations and evaluations that looks at the “whole person” using empirical science, my neurodivergent thinking, and (w)holistic wisdom.

Where learning is concerned, the “whole person” is important because people are different and so many learn and think differently. My Neuropedagogy allows Neuroscience, Psychology, and Psychopathology including Positive Psychology such as Motivational Interviewing including Self-Perception Theory, Biopsychosocial Psychology such as (W)holism approaches, Evangelical Theology such as Neuthetic Counselling, and Education including Constructivist Theory and Montessori Philosophy to come into an authentic practice. It really looks at how we all process information differently in space and interconnected time; briefly, we are all wired with dissimilarity for which each neural pathway is connected differently to process the same information that we all can receive. My current practice is a holistic approach to discovery of resilience, inner-being, spiritual-growth, and aims to learn how to stimulate new zones of the brain, and increase self-directed neuroplasticity, and atonement to create connections (neuropathways) for learning to be successful and enjoyable. Furthermore, it is targeted at naturally stimulating the brains of all types of learners, not only those with students who have learning disabilities.

The Problem: We are seeing children/adults digress with gulf-sized disconnect and low self-esteem. Each child/adult is multidimensional and ALL our systems and senses need to function equalized, activated, and balanced for learning to take place. The triune brain which is the neomammalian complex (RAS- aka neocortex), midbrain (pons- aka limbic system), and forebrain (thymus aka reptilian) is working on a downward function, which makes learning and thinking chaotic in the mind. People are using their mental and emotional bodies to learn, not their etherical body (etheric).

The Solution: When using the etherical body, ALL our faculties, systems, and senses will function equalized, activated, and balanced. The triune brain needs to be working in an upward function (no longer perform in a protective function). With a functional upward system, the child [or adult] can trust themselves and their gifts and learning uniquenesses through spiritual mindset with self-directed neuroplasticity through ABC’s and atonement meaning God awareness (eventually unity) through PYAM Daily. They’re offered the freedom arising from conditions within the brain, senses, or sense organs and not directly caused not by external stimuli but the knowing with-in themselves which is patience for understanding and trusting in their subjective, divergent mind.

I help those who are seemingly weak or weary due to – Why is Motivational Interviewing [MI] effective and Neuthetic Counseling for a neurodifference I have observed so many becoming weary with a neurodiversity, by living in strife of regret or dread…mask and push, mask and push, mask and push then BURNOUT Where failures have turned to vanity to overcome them…. Even I observed those in despair such as hatred, deceit, grief, and guilt… They question “why” the learning, thinking, and other differences “had to happen” to them… So many of us, who have a neurodiversity, need to recognize anger and/or need to overcome shame due to suppressive anger…

Individual differences in brain functioning regarded as normal variations within the human population because of genes, environmental, and intersecting factors. THE AUDITORY BRAINSTEM RESPONSE (ABR) & MEASURES OF PH IN THE BLOOD: EVALUATES RISK FACTORS FOR HEARING LOSS. This (1980) found fourteen of 100 unselected patients in an Intensive care nursery were found by the auditory brainstem evoked response (ABR) method to suffer significant hearing loss; of these 8 were ultimately discharged home. Analysis of the 100 clinical records identified 9 risk factors of which most, like low Apgar scores, are already known (Table I). However, neonatal asphyxia appeared to be associated with hearing loss only when repeated episodes of acidosis accompanied it (Table III). We conclude that the ABR readily identifies the hard-of-hearing premature and estimates the type and amount of his peripheral hearing loss, and that physiological events associated with prolonged perfusion of the cochlea with blood low in pH may be the most common cause of hearing disorder in this group. Other NDD’s Most people are unaware of the connection between dyslexia and ADD or ADHD. It has been estimated that between 30 – 60% of kids with dyslexia also have either ADD or ADHD. “Challenges with processing emotions start in the brain itself. Sometimes the working memory impairments of ADHD allow a momentary emotion to become too strong, flooding the brain with one intense emotion.” Thomas Brown, Ph.D.

Brain imaging studies demonstrate that chemicals that activate reward-recognizing circuits in the brain tend to bind on significantly fewer receptor sites in people with ADHD than do those in a comparison group. People with ADHD are less able to anticipate pleasure or register satisfaction with tasks for which the payoff is delayed. Few doctors factor in emotional challenges when making an ADHD diagnosis. In fact, current diagnostic criteria for ADHD include no mention of “problems with emotions.” At other times, working memory impairments leave the person with insufficient sensitivity to the importance of a particular emotion because he or she hasn’t kept other relevant information in mind. Challenges with emotions start in the brain itself. At other times, the person with ADHD seems insensitive or unaware of the emotions of others. Brain connectivity networks carrying information related to emotion seem to be somewhat more limited in individuals with ADHD.

Gifted & Talented Plus 2e The term “twice-exceptional,” also referred to as “2e,” is used to describe gifted children who, have the characteristics of gifted students with the potential for high achievement and give evidence of one or more disabilities as defined by federal or state eligibility criteria. Emotional Intensity (see pons above and insensitive below)- It is characterized by heightened and intense feelings, a constant stream of both positive and negative feelings – pain, distress, despair, fear, excitement, love, sadness or happiness – sometimes a mixture of many at the same time; For my program, it’s mainly: anger, shame, happiness (joy), grief, courage (might), and harmony! Emotionally overexcitable (OE) is often the first to be noticed by parents. It is reflected in heightened, intense feelings, extremes of complex emotions, identification with others’ feelings, and strong affective expression (Piechowski, 1991).

Other manifestations include physical responses like stomachaches and blushing or concern with death and depression (Piechowski, 1979). Emotionally overexcitable people have a remarkable capacity for deep relationships; they show strong emotional attachments to people, places, and things (Dabrowski & Piechowski, 1977). They have compassion, empathy, and sensitivity in relationships. Those with strong Emotional OE are acutely aware of their own feelings, of how they are growing and changing, and often carry on inner dialogs and practice self-judgment (Piechowski, 1979, 1991). Children high in Emotional OE‚ are often accused of “overreacting.” Their compassion and concern for others, their focus on relationships, and the intensity of their feelings may interfere with everyday tasks like homework or doing the dishes. They also have deep and holistic, list-form type thinking including: problem-solving and building/constructing abilities, competitive drive, computer skills, and gaming strategies. They seek our own endeavors of creative, imaginative, visual, artistic, and visionary skills while taking on inventing and innovating pursuits. I can also tell you that they may excel at thinking of “outside the box” solutions, seeing a problem from many sides, and patterns/spatial relationships along with the ability to think in 3 dimensions-using their strong evaluation skills and imagination (capable of observing patterns of: color, shape, size, dimension, rhythm, meter, tone, and chant). Two Types Of Literacy Intervention Learners, I Observed That Go Most Unrecognized In Their Gifts: • The Students with the “Engineering Mind”: a student who spends hours taking things apart and putting them back together, creating things, assembling and un-assembling ex. legos, blocks. They are setting things apart to see how they can fix them, problem-solution thinkers (descibed above). They are are natural engineers. It is inherent in their curious nature. As they grow, almost instinctively they show great interest in shapes (using evaluation kills descibed above) and numbers. They can or tend to understand/provide complex information to readers/listeners in a way that they can understand and apply, even if they don’t have prior knowledge of the topic; Yet, they are truly interest-based learners at the same time. “Technical thinkers” can explain, especially verbally with a rather large lexicon knowledge, how a particular subject works or how and what’s needed to complete a task or project including: list-form, divergent, systematic thinking and somewhat linear-so they can express the topic that can be structured in the following step-by-step instructions.

Note: sometimes needed to be given the “right tools for analysis” in order to express/communicate to others. This is my job! Note: I have noticed both of these types are “doers” and need autonomy (avoid disparagement); They need to be independently doing something to learn and apply their divergent reasoning (opposite of typical scientific method observing (first), then hypothesis.theory and test by moving, touching, following interest, writing something technical, application of skills, etc..). They, as well, can have a learning difference (neurodiversity). They are also “strong willed” and know technically what they have “in mind” to work on, so please let them be autonomous and independent in their work.

They may have a strong purpose in their special interest that could change problems to the world!! A study of human brain tissue suggests clinical depression reduces the quantity of astrocyte cells in key regions Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) include fatigue, even with too much sleep, and weight gain associated with overeating and carbohydrate cravings. SAD may begin at any age, but it typically starts when a person is between ages 18 and 30. SAD symptoms can vary from mild to severe and can include many symptoms similar to major. While people commonly colloquialize this as impostor “syndrome,” “phenomenon” or “experience” are better terms because impostor phenomenon isn’t a clinical diagnosis, said Pauline Rose Clance, PhD, ABPP, an Atlanta-based clinical psychologist and professor emerita at Georgia State University, who coined the term “impostor phenomenon” with her colleague Suzanne Imes, PhD (Psychotherapy: Theory, Research & Practice, Vol. 15, No. 3, 1978).

PTSD- Many advances in science have been made in the last decade to better explain the pathogenesis of PTSD. Advances in the brain imaging method have allowed us to study changes in patients’ brains in a non-invasive way. Recent studies have observed the activity or morphology changes of several brain regions in patients with PTSD, including the prefrontal lobe, amygdala, hippocampus. However, it is still unclear how these changes in brain regions are linked to PTSD. Further research needs to be conducted to understand the function of brain regions during the development of PTSD. Also, people can develop PTSD, depression, or both as a result of a major traumatic event. The hypothalamic– pituitary–adrenal axis (HPA axis) may play an important role in such a difference (see HPA and anger above). Pathological Demand Avoidance of PDA is becoming more widely recognized as a distinct profile of autism. British psychologist Elizabeth Newson came up with this term which describes an anxiety-driven need to be in control and avoid other people’s demands and expectations. Demand avoidance in the PDA profile looks different from what others on the autism spectrum experience because of its extreme nature and obsessive quality. Research done at the University of Newcastle in November 2016 found that Intolerance of Uncertainty (IU) was also associated with PDA, in fact even stronger than anxiety. For many people, a traumatic experience can leave an indelible impression on the brain in the form of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Deficient emotional self-regulation (DESR) is a relatively new term used to describe the problem of impulsive emotion coupled with emotional self-regulation difficulties — issues long associated with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD or ADD).

DESR may be new to the ADHD lexicon, however I argue that it is a core and commonly overlooked component of the disorder — and one that can help predict a patient’s impairments, and even improve diagnostic and treatment practices.1 Dysthymia- People with untreated ADHD can suffer from dysthymia — a mild but long-term mood disorder or sadness. Major depressive disorder is a stress-related mood disorder associated with a disrupted HPA axis, and evidence suggests that the gut microbiota play a key role in modulating depression. Bipolar disorder is a severe psychiatric disorder with dysfunctions of neuroimmune system which also suggest the braingut-microbiota axis is an important physiological mechanism. Communication from gut to brain occurs through tryptophan, an essential building block of serotonin. Serotonin is key in regulating mood, eating, and sleep patterns. There is limited storage capacity for tryptophan in the brain, and a constant supply is required from the gut. It was once believed that tryptophan came strictly from diet alone, but what research has shown is that gut microbiota, particularly Bifidobacterium, produces tryptophan and increases its levels in the bloodstream. This study below has since been replicated, adding to global evidence linking the microbiome-gut-brain axis to stress and mental health disorders. Low diversity in the gut microbiota is now considered a significant biomarker for major depressive disorder. Other mental health and neurodegenerative disorders with significant microbiome-gut-brain ties include: post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, Parkinson’s disease, and autism. Prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Co-morbidities in Children and Adolescents: A Systematic Literature Review: In a previous pilot study we evaluated the outcome of medical screening at referral in children and adolescents with different psychiatric disorders. This screening revealed new somatic findings in 56% of the subjects [35]. These findings included a broad spectrum of medical concerns, including weight and length problems, high levels of thyroid hormone, dyslipidemia, anemia, vitamin D and vitamin B12 deficiency and dysmorphic anomalies. Some of these results required consultation from other medical specialists, whereas others had direct implications for daily medical practice, such as adjustments in psychopharmacologic treatment and/or participation in prevention programs for overweight. Are we “listening” to our transpersonal higher-self (NOUS including Thalmus) and doing things with autonomy, attunement and adaptability? Are we just doing what we are told by others, nor in connection to our higher-self?

NOUS- νοῦς (Strong’s #3563 — Noun Masculine — nous — nooce ) for which see MIND , No. 1, is translated “understanding” in 3563 noús (a masculine noun) – the God-given capacity of each person to think (reason); the mind; mental capacity to exercise reflective thinking. For the believer, 3563 (noús) is the organ of receiving God’s thoughts, through faith. The ‘theory of mind” is the degree of capacity for empathy and strength; as well as our understanding of ourselves and others have a mind, too. Where the mind is located has been a continuous debate- I propose that the mind at least begin in our very own thymus. The thymus in Greek root–thymos–the middle region between reason (intelligence) and desire (imagination). The thymus is the center of both our higher and lower self. It is the epicenter of a vagus nerve highway including the interchanges from our gut-brain axis, to our Pons, RAS including CAN: ACC and HPA (both housed with-in the brain) which all control every system, sense, and function; basically, every aspect of the human being. The “LEB” is an eon- a miniature particle-spherical body made up of God’s Image aka The Nous ​(That can multiply, grow, expand- as in constant connection and flow through Christ, by means of coming-into His pleasure, which is our content: the ARAS- Thymus, Pons, RAS (HPA & ACC)/GUT DESPAIR of having anger and shame (worry & fear of the SUPEREGO (Idolatry, Sloth… Woe To Meekness & Justice, aka SUPEREGO -God’s conscious (nous). It’s the ultimate “energy” center that create an authority of the self-body seeking out love, peace, and justice. It makes up our EM field- discipleship and determines or desires and higher purpose as it’s “the soul” in commune with one’s spirit. The thymus aka “leb” can be overtaken by love or fear, worry – it’s where our consciousness and super consciousness (ARAS- chakras 12+ consciousness and subconscious conjoin in unity) begins and ends. Over the last 15 years, I’ve observed an increasing amount  of affective,  behavioral, sensorial, cognitive, physical, mental, and spiritual  difficulties and differences due to learning with trauma along with an increased number of people being medicated, misdiagnosed, or going undiagnosed; Note, between 1998 and 2018, the number of people diagnosed with autism has jumped by 787%. It really looks at how we all process information differently in space and interconnected time; briefly, we are all wired with dissimilarity for which each neural pathway is connected differently to process the same information that we all can receive. My current practice is a holistic approach to discovery of resilience, inner-being, spiritual-growth, and aims to learn how to stimulate new zones of the brain, and increase self-directed neuroplasticity, and atonement to create connections (neuropathways) for learning to be successful and enjoyable. Furthermore, it is targeted at naturally stimulating the brains of all types of learners, not only those with students who have learning disabilities.

The Problem: We are seeing children/adults digress with gulf-sized disconnect and low self-esteem. Each child/adult is multidimensional and ALL our systems and senses need to function equalized, activated, and balanced for learning to take place. The triune brain which is the neomammalian complex (RAS- aka neocortex), midbrain (pons- aka limbic system), and forebrain (thymus aka reptilian) is working on a downward function, which makes learning and thinking chaotic in the mind. People are using their mental and emotional bodies to learn, not their etherical body (etheric).

 

The Solution: When using the etherical body, ALL our faculties, systems, and senses will function equalized, activated, and balanced. The triune brain needs to be working in an upward function (no longer perform in a protective function). With a functional upward system, the child [or adult] can trust themselves and their gifts and learning uniquenesses through spiritual mindset with self-directed neuroplasticity through ABC’s and atonement meaning God awareness (eventually unity) through PYAM Daily. They’re offered the freedom arising from conditions within the brain, senses, or sense organs and not directly caused not by external stimuli but the knowing with-in themselves which is patience for understanding and trusting in their subjective, divergent mind.

A practical definition of the mind— cellular memory is a theory that the body’s cells retain memories independently from the brain. The weary need discernment upon their ego state

Psyche would be the ego conditioned individual’ “mind‘ wherein knowing “their being”; meaning what one is as a person and why here on earth through ontological training from family, culture, religion, education etc. which that” …is an ego states- they are an adaptation to various life circumstances, rather than innate states of being. Sometimes a person becomes stuck in an ego state, or finds that an ego state is no longer beneficial. A child abuse victim, for example, might get stuck in the role of frightened child.

What is discernment?

Definition of discernment. 1 : the quality of being able to grasp and comprehend what is obscure [such as “one’s life purpose”, “reason for being”, ‘threatening life circumstances’]; as well, a skill in discerning. 2 : an act of perceiving or discerning something. What is discernment meekness? (Divine Love)

Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. What is discernment of justice? (Divine Honor)

The administration of law, especially the establishment or determination of rights according to the rules of law or equity. The quality of being just, impartial or fair, and when to seek forgiveness of others. I feel the best way to support those with Neurodevelopmental disorders or Neurodiversity especially in later onset…

I find the best support includes understanding the impact that a negative social environment, aka learning with trauma, has on those who have a neurodiversity, or as I prefer to say “neurodifferent”. My program, My Elbert, was developed to help those who feel weak and weary due to being neurodifferent including those working with them. Mainly, I help others to succeed and employ a positive attitude towards learning and learning environment. Instead of allowing shame and anger to overwhelm the learner, I focus on bringing in positive emotions and teaching methods for instance observing when they are needing calm delight. As well, help the learner with their learning difference and change their brain with self-directed neuroplasticity [flexibility] and atonement [adaptability]- The meaning of the word is simply at-one-ment, i.e., the state of being at one or being reconciled, so that atonement is reconciliation. Thus it is used to denote the effect which flows from the death of Christ. Easton, M. G. (1893). Why Motivational Interviewing? Motivational Interviewing incorporates the growing body of outcome research and is an “empathic, person-centred” counseling approach that prepares people for change by helping them resolve ambivalence, enhance intrinsic motivation, and build confidence to change.” (Kraybill and Morrison, 2007). More applications of MI within and beyond the addictions field such as OARS which are the basic interaction techniques and skills that are used “early and often” in the motivational interviewing approach. (Adapted from handouts by David Rosengren and from Miller & Rollnick, Motivational Interviewing, 2nd Edition, 2002). Coverage of MI and the stages-of-change model; applications in medical, public health, and criminal justice contexts; and the use of MI with groups, couples, and adolescents. Proven to work in those with anger. One very large study of treatment for alcohol use disorders found that response to motivational enhancement therapy was not altered by sociopathy, severity of alcohol involvement, concomitant psychological problems, or cognitive impairment. In this same study, angry people fared particularly well with a motivational interviewing–based approach, whereas those less angry at the beginning of treatment did somewhat better in cognitive-behavioral or twelve-step counseling. (W. Miller & S. Rollick, 2002, p. 47). MI will help them identify feelings of low self-esteem, guilt, shame, and self-judgment. Humiliation, shame, guilt, and angst are not the primary engines of change. Ironically, such experiences can even immobilize the person, rendering change more remote. Instead, constructive behavior change seems to arise when the person connects it with something of intrinsic value, something important, something cherished. Intrinsic motivation for change arises in an accepting, empowering atmosphere that makes it safe for the person to explore the possibly painful present in relation to what is wanted and valued. (W. Miller & S. Rollick, 2002, p. 33). Why Neuthetic Counseling? The three ideas found in the word nouthesia are confrontation, concern, and change. To put it simply, nouthetic counseling consists of lovingly confronting people out of deep concern in order to help them make those changes that God require. The nouthetic counselor believes that all that is needed to help another person love God and his neighbor as he should, as the verse above indicates, may be found in the Bible. By concern we mean that counseling is always done for the benefit of the counselee. His welfare is always in view in Biblical counseling. The apostle Paul put it this way: “I am not writing these things to shame you, but to counsel you as my dear children.” (1 Corinthians 4:14). Plainly, the familial nature of the word noutheteo appears in this verse. There is always a warm, family note to biblical counseling which is done among the saints of God who seek to help one another become more like Christ. Christians consider their counseling to be a part of the sanctification process whereby one Christian helps another get through some difficulty that is hindering him from moving forward in his spiritual growth. My Elbert: Heart & Mind

Problem: For people in retrograde, [occurring or performed in a direction opposite to the normal or forward direction of conduction or flow the normal flow of energy is reversed. Ideas, thoughts, feelings; instead of easily pouring out to others] their thoughts seem to get stuck within our mind and unforgiveness in their heart. They have regressive interest in others and on the contrary have an admiration of themselves (especially physical). Therefore, forming a condition in the spectrum of narcissistic probabilities and tendencies; in this case, we have seen in society today with the socially unconscious and globally competitive individuals. Solution: What does unity mean spiritually? First of all, what is the meaning of “spiritual unity and the opposite of flow in retrograde motion”? Some of the definitions for “unity” provided in The Merriam-Webster Dictionary include “the quality or state of being made one (unification),” occurring or performed in a normal or forward direction of conduction or flow including “a condition of harmony,” and “a combination or ordering of parts”… such that constitutes a whole such as Autonomy and Attunement= Adaptability [Retrieved from https://www.streetsensemedia.org/article/spiritual-unity-2/].

My Neuropedagogy allows Neuroscience, Psychology, and Psychopathology including Positive Psychology such as Motivational Interviewing including Self-Perception Theory, Biopsychosocial Psychology such as (W)holism approaches, Evangelical Theology, and Education including Constructivist Theory and Montessori Philosophy to come into an authentic practice. It really looks at how we all process information differently in space and interconnected time; briefly, we are all wired with dissimilarity for which each neural pathway is connected differently to process the same information that we all can receive. My current practice is a holistic approach to discovery of inner-being, spiritual-growth, and aims to learn how to stimulate new zones of the brain, and increase self-directed neuroplasticity, and atonement to create connections (neuropathways) for learning to be successful and enjoyable. Furthermore, it is targeted at naturally stimulating the brains of all types of learners, not only those with students who have learning disabilities.
