Introduction
MY ELBERT: EVERYONE LEARNS BETTER EMBRACING REVOLUTIONARY TEACHING IS The first Specialized Online Coaching Curriculum. I’ve spent the last 25 years perfecting an alternative, holistic approach to correcting learning differences, including, but not limited to, Dyslexia and Neurodevelopmental differences (view the “why” behind My Elbert below …view program HERE).
After twenty-five years of being in education, I provide tutoring, consulting, and coaching on dyslexia and other neurodevelopmental differences. Over the last 15 years, I’ve observed an increasing amount of affective, behavioral, sensorial, cognitive, physical, mental, and spiritual difficulties and differences due to learning with trauma along with an increased number of children being medicated, misdiagnosed, or going undiagnosed; Therefore, I have developed a neuropedagogy that includes my observations and evaluations that looks at the “whole person” using empirical science, my neurodivergent thinking, and holistic wisdom. Where learning is concerned, the “whole person” is important because people are different and so many learn and think differently. My neuropedgogy allows neuroscience, psychology, psychopathology, holism, Evangelical theology, and education to come into an authentic practice. It really looks at how we all process information differently in space and interconnected time; in brief, we are all wired with dissimilarity for which each neural pathway is connected differently to process the same information that we all can receive. My current practice is a holistic approach to discovery of inner-being, spiritual-growth, and aims to learn how to stimulate new zones of the brain, and increase self-directed neuroplasticity, and create connections (neuropathways) for learning to be successful. Furthermore, it is targeted at naturally stimulating the brains of all types of learners, not only those with students who have learning disabilities.
The Problem: We are seeing children/adults digress with gulf-sized disconnect and low self-esteem. Each child/adult is multidimensional and ALL our systems and senses need to function equalized, activated, and balanced for learning to take place. The triune brain which is the neomammalian complex (RAS- aka neocortex), midbrain (pons- aka limbic system), and forebrain (thymus aka reptilian) is working on a downward function, which makes learning and thinking chaotic in the mind. People are using their mental and emotional bodies to learn, not their etherical body (etheric).
The Solution: When using the etherical body, ALL our faculties, systems, and senses will function equalized, activated, and balanced. The triune brain needs to be working in an upward function (no longer perform in a protective function). With a functional upward system, the child [or adult] can trust themselves and their gifts and learning uniquenesses through spiritual mindset with self-directed neuroplasticity through ABC’s and atonement meaning God awareness (eventually unity) through PYAM Daily. They’re offered the freedom arising from conditions within the brain, senses, or sense organs and not directly caused not by external stimuli but the knowing with-in themselves which is patience for understanding and trusting in their subjective, divergent mind.

What is Conscience/Righteousness- Intellectual-Moral aka “The Perfect” (Pure Heart)? The moral feeling, by which we mean a sense of the difference between right and wrong, would seem to be a part of the native furnishing of the mind. Conscience is a vigilant eye before which each imagination, thought, and act, is held up for either censure or approval. I believe there is no greater argument for the existence of God in the world today than conscience. What is Self Realization/Blamelessness- Imaginative-Moral aka “The Simple” (Clean Mind)? How can we achieve this state of Being for ourselves? Self Realization is a term that is becoming increasingly more widely used. In many ways it is an obscure term, and its meaning is not immediately apparent. For many it is a term that means the same as ‘Enlightenment’ – a word which is similarly something difficult to determine. However, the term ‘Self Realization’ is more useful as it actually refers to a very specific stage in the journey of awakening that Ramana Maharshi and others described. According to Erik Erikson, during the first years of school, every child must resolve the conflicts between a positive self-image and feelings of inferiority. What is neurodiversity?
People with dyslexia and other forms of neurodiversity have sound and language processing problems. They will struggle to connect letters to sounds and, mainly difficulties identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words; as well, those with visual processing difficulties struggle to understand visual information such as letters, shapes, or objects and problems processing the graphic symbols (mainly, problems with convergence). Other difficulties related to the absorption and processing of sounds [sounds especially can be omitted from words by the student], students with dyslexia most commonly omit letter sounds, words, phrases in the middle position, then the end, and least commonly the beginning. When they omit, they might do sound confusions such as repetition(s), substitution(s), addition(s) or delete altogether, on the other hand; transversal(s) and reversal(s) are more common in students with a visual processing difficulties. P.S. I suggest -have them remember: if it doesn’t look or sound right reread or rewrite till your brain feels like “it’s just right” [trust your brain-you are smart, you can do it, and you are love]. What is neurodivergency?
I consult to help others discover their own/someone else’s learning uniquenesses, interest, and how to use their gifts and strengths. Those with a neurodifference usually have a neurodivergency; meaning, they often have intuitive and insightful, well-developed social awareness and emotions while possessing a lexicon of words to help with the synonymous “why’s of dyslexia”. They also have deep and holistic, list-form type thinking including: problem-solving and building/constructing abilities, competitive drive, computer skills, and gaming strategies. They seek their own endeavors of creative, imaginative, visual, artistic, and visionary skills while taking on inventing and innovating pursuits. I can also tell you that they may excel at thinking of “outside the box” solutions, seeing a problem from many sides, and patterns/spatial relationships along with the ability to think in 3 dimensions-using our strong evaluation skills and imagination (capable of observing patterns of: color, shape, size, dimension, rhythm, meter, tone, and chant). They have an innate ability for caring for people, animals, and nature [Note: sometimes due to circumstances they go against their own nature in this respect]. Lastly, I prepare students with unique learning and neurodifferences to connect to the world with enrichment classes through my program MY ELBERT.
What is neruopedagogy?
My current practice is a holistic, alternative approach to being and aims to learn how to stimulate new zones of the brain, and increase self-directed neuroplasticity, and create connections (neuropathways) for learning to be successful. Furthermore, it is targeted at naturally stimulating the brains of all types of learners, not only those with students who have learning differences. You need to know that my neuropedagogy is based on the following: my own inductive reasoning, logic of evaluation, outside-of-the box type problem-solving skills, detective sense contributed to my own gift of neurodivergency, gift of knowledge and wisdom (discernment), countless hours of student observations (Montessori), (w)holism, neuroscientific, neuropsychology, educational research (Orton-Gillingham and “Science of Reading”), and spiritual/religious studies (Nouthetic Counseling) along with my perpetual care for the “whole person”. We can identify goals and potential solutions to problems which cause emotional turmoil; seek to improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem, and connection (unity) with God; and promote behavior change and optimal mental health and “wellness”.

What is the best way to support those with Neurodevelopmental disorders or Neurodiversity in later onset?
I find the best support includes understanding the impact that a negative social environment, aka learning with trauma, has on those who have a neurodiversity, or as I prefer to say “neurodifferent”. My program, My Elbert, was developed to help those who feel weak and weary due to being neurodifferent including those working with them. Mainly, I help others to succeed and employ a positive attitude towards learning and learning environment. Instead of allowing shame and anger to overwhelm the learner, I focus on bringing in positive emotions and teaching methods for instance observing when they are needing calm delight. As well, help the learner with their learning difference and change their brain with self-directed neuroplasticity [flexibility and adaptability] and atonement. I support students with mixed: My Elbert enrichment along with literacy intervention, and tutoring online classes. These classes/sessions stem from a hybrid of elements and methods from Montessori- life domains and development with observation, Nouthetic Counseling- theology, evangelism, behavioral sciences , and Orton-Gillingham methods- practice of reading in research. I developed this program due to my own experience and being labeled severely learning disabled. As well as, I would like to share I little about myself, I have a Neurodiversity in Auditory, Visual and Vestibular as well a Neurodivergency which had made me weak and weary over the span of my life. According to Mark Briscoe, Jesus experienced anger and grief. His anger was a righteous anger for it had selfless reasons. He experience grief when Lazarus died but not for Lazarus but for the people who loved Lazarus. He knew he would raise Lazarus. But looking at the people who wept he was grieved. And you find the shortest verse in the Bible. “Jesus wept.” He didnt feel shame or guilt for they imply He would have sinned.
Paul says that God has written a certain knowledge of His laws on every human heart [Rom. 2:14-15], and experience confirms this. But conscience can be misinformed, or conditioned to regard evil as good, or become seared and dull through repeated sin [1 Tim. 4:2]. The judgments of conscience are only to be received as God’s voice when they match God’s own truth and law in Scripture. The conscience must be educated to judge scripturally.
Superstition or scruple may lead a person to count as sinful an action that according to God’s word is not sinful. But for such a “weak” conscience [Rom. 14:1-2; 1 Cor. 8:7, 12;] to go against itself and do what it mistakenly judges to be wrong would be sin [Rom. 14:23]. Those whose conscience is “weak” should never be pressed to do what destroys their good conscience.
The New Testament ideal is a conscience free from guilt and able to guide us in a holy direction. The conscience can only be freed from guilt by the power of Christ’s blood. Once freed and protected in its freedom by the gift of justification, the conscience is able to grow through the teaching of Scripture and the means of grace in Christian life…
Like my friend, Al Rosenblum wrote, God made us with an empty place in our hearts that only He can fill. He fills the spiritual need enabling us to operate lovingly and effectively in our human relationships. The empty place causes us to have hunger/thirst for love, affection, appreciation, etc.. We use our to attach to people and things in our world that we believe will fill our emptiness. Before salvation which happens in a microsecond of time when we believe the gospel (death, burial, resurrection of Jesus to resolve our sin debt with God-Father) we are disconnected from God and can only attach our hunger & faith to people & earthly things of the world. We attach our hearts to the things of this life and build a false belief system around the idea that the love of people and possessions (instead of God) can make us happy (a lie). We build our entire belief system on lies that we pick up out of the world (this statement requires considerable explanation). All that we learn & believe that builds our thinking system before we are saved is devoid of God as the center & purpose and without the Holy Spirit to reveal the divine truths to us. After we are saved we use the same system to learn the same divine ideas that Jesus used in His earthly life so that we can use them too, becoming like Him from the inside out. We have all harbored anger and shame in our high heart-mind. What are mitochondria?
Mitochondria are compartmentalized, dual-membrane organelles that are responsible for most energy production in the cell. Mitochondria contain their own DNA and ribosomes (RNA). Their primary function is to convert energy from glucose into ATP via oxidative phosphorylation. Mitochondria also play an important role in the cellular stress response through processes such as autophagy, apoptosis, and hypoxia. Mitochondrial dysfunction is implicated in many human diseases including cancer, metabolic syndrome & neurodegenerative disorders, ex. Mitochondria have been increasing recognized as important players in the aging process. Most aging related diseases and particularly neurodegenerative diseases have mitochondrial involvement. Co-activation- brings the neurons to activation and stimulation of mitochondrial production within the cells which helps build more efficient, proactive neuronal networks and plasticity. Mitochondria are the principal synergetic energy generators of cells, and neurons are cells that require a lot of energy. People with depression have fewer mitochondria in their neurons and people with untreated depression have lower levels of protein produced by mitochondria. These help maintain optimal energy production as well as structural integrity and optimal numbers of mitochondria. A characteristic of diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s—collectively known as neurodegenerative diseases—is the build-up of misfolded proteins. These proteins, such as amyloid and tau in Alzheimer’s disease, form ‘aggregates’ that can cause irreversible damage to nerve cells in the brain. Protein folding is a normal process in the body, and in healthy individuals, cells carry out a form of quality control to ensure that proteins are correctly folded and that misfolded proteins are destroyed. But in neurodegenerative diseases, this system becomes impaired, with potentially devastating consequences. As the global population ages, an increasing number of people are being diagnosed with dementia, making the search for effective drugs ever more urgent. Ordinarily, there is a balance in the brain between signals that increase cell activity and ones which suppress it. INTELLECTUAL- what is right, memory (RAS-ACC & HPA)

Every cell in your body holds hundreds of pages of information on all levels of your being: physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Cellular memory is a theory that the body’s cells retain memories independently of the brain. MORAL- what is good, emotion (PONS)
Neuroplasticity is the capacity of nerve cells to biologically adapt to circumstances, to change their connections and behavior in response to new information, sensory stimulation, development, damage, or dysfunction. Mindsight, a skill we can all develop to break free from mental patterns that get in the way of living our lives to the fullest; A practical definition of the mind—distilled from a dozen scientific fields; PONS & The RAS promotes a healthy flow between your mind, brain, and relationships in a specific way such as Attunement=Resilience, Attitude, and Attention!
IMAGINATIVE- what is God’s Will, atonement (THYMUS)
Self-directed neuroplasticity and atonement, then, is the ability for the brain to change itself depending on how you direct your thoughts and attention. The THYMUS is the “self-directed” piece refers to your ability to intentionally shape your brain by using it in a specific way such as Autonomy & Attunement= Adaptability (3 A’s)! Meaning, the “whole person”, becoming willing to adapt to Him and allowing him into All consequence made by our own will and choices. Because, this trust will let us know our own truths that basically-We Are Free from the old covet, Sin Laws and Can Come to realize the new covet, Spiritual Laws (water, blood, and Spirit has atoned for us through His resurrection).

In broad terms, the findings showed “significant genetic overlap” between anxiety and conditions including PTSD and depression that frequently co-occur with anxiety. A multidisciplinary team at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has devised a new approach to 3D imaging that captures DNA methylation, a key epigenetic change associated with learning in the brain.

Three Potential Mechanisms of Transcranial Photobiomodulation (tPBM):
First, by direct stimulation, where photobiomodulation is applied directly on the distressed neurons themselves, activates mitochondrial function that then increases both adenosine triphosphate energy and the expression of stimulatory and/or protective genes.
Second, by indirect stimulation, where photobiomodulation triggers recruitment of a “middle man”, such as cells of the immune and/or stem cell systems. These activated cells may swarm to the region of distressed neurons and helps them survive and function, by potentially increasing the expression of anti-inflammatory cytokines while decreasing the pro-inflammatory ones.

A very important study shows acute stress as a result of childhood maltreatment to accelerated early maturation of the immune system. Acute psychosocial stress states stimulate the secretion of an antibody type protein that is decisive in the first immune defense against infection, but only after puberty. In humans, the vitamin D receptor is encoded by the VDR gene located on chromosome 12q13. 11. Like the iNKT cells, there are also fewer CD8αα/TCRαβ precursors in the thymus of VDR-KO animals. Moreover, to complete development CD8αα/TCRαβ cells must travel from the thymus to the gastrointestinal tract where IL-15 induces proliferation and upregulation of CD8αα. Speaking of the “whole child”- the vagus nerve connects the brain stem to the body. It also connects and aligns the chakras (energy centers-wheels), Pons, RAS & CAN: ACC/HPA and thymus including their own biofield (including electromagnetic field). Recognition is Heterarchical: The “New Man”- Perceives as God Does (Living Faith- Seeing, Hearing & Understanding By Faith)
We have seen that individual aspects of patterns, such as their color, shape, orientation, or motion, are processed by separate parts of recognition networks. And these specialized processes proceed in parallel. But they do not proceed independently. Like affective systems, recognition systems are intensely interconnected and heterarchical. The naïve assumption is that recognition is primarily a “bottom-up” process. In this view, visual sensory information enters the nervous system at the retina (the bottom) and then travels up through an increasingly complex hierarchical network, eventually reaching the visual cortex where patterns in the visual information are recognized (the top).
But as we saw in the Adelson illusion, recognition is very much a “top-down” process. Our brains don’t just passively receive information in that bottom-up way. Instead, our brains are constantly and persistently anticipating and predicting what patterns we will see, hear, smell, taste, or touch, and those expectancies profoundly affect what patterns we actually do perceive. In the field of psychology, emotions are not just our feelings, as some may think. The ‘theory of mind” is the degree of capacity for empathy and strength; as well as our understanding of ourselves and others have a mind, too. Where the mind is located has been a continuous debate- I propose that the mind at least begin in our very own thymus. The thymus in Greek root–thymos–the middle region between reason (intelligence) and desire (imagination). The thymus is the center of both our higher and lower self. It is the epicenter of a vagus nerve highway including the interchanges from our gut-brain axis, to our Pons, RAS including CAN: ACC and HPA (both housed with-in the brain) which all control every system, sense, and function; basically, every aspect of the human being. The ” ” is an eon- a miniature particle-spherical body made up of God’s Image (That can multiply, grow, expand- as in constant connection and flow through Christ, by means of coming-into the ARAS-THYMUS, & PONS, RAS/GUT, -God’s conscious (nous)). It’s the ultimate “energy” center that create an authority of the self-body seeking out love, peace, and justice. In the field of child-psychology, “Every attitude has three components that are represented in what is called the ABC model of attitudes: A for affective, B for behavioral, and C for cognitive. Although every attitude has these three components, any particular attitude can be based on one component more than another (Study.com 2020).” The naming of the word attitude as it relates to students learning can give someone a negative perception; parents ask me all the time, “can you help me with my child’s attitude”. The attitude one has for learning makes for a make or break type learning. I observe kids all the time with Responsive System Dysfunction (RSD) which means it is hard to find meaning and motivation for learning. When your child is learning under stress, fear, and having RDS, they are learning from their mental or emotional bodies, primarily with a (anger) Sympathetic Functional System which is a hyper-processing dysfunction and (shame) Parasympathetic Functional System Dysfunction which is a hypo-processing dysfunction or both anger/shame which is a Total Functional Dominance System (TFD) which is a varied hyper-, hypo- dysfunction of the RAS (Rectangular Activation System). This hyper-, hypo- and varied dominance affects the “whole child”.

The Mind: Perceiving with Interpersonal Victimhood Outside of Conscious Awareness

Another Recent Study uncovers the “Tendency for Interpersonal Victimhood”: A new personality construct has been defined that describes people who persistently see themselves as victims within interpersonal conflicts [such as disparagement]. This research has suggested, for example, that middle school students with learning disabilities often view academic situations as threatening, even exhibiting physiological stress responses upon entering a room where they will be asked to read. While more successful readers tend to show mild anxiety when asked to read aloud, students with a history of reading difficulties show elevated heart rates and other indicators [sympathetic-anger] of stress even before being given instructions.25
SEVEN IMPACTS OF DYSLEXIA CAUSING INTENSE EMOTIONS
Here’s let’s think about the impacts of dyslexia and the disparagement all creating anger/shame especially in school:
First:
Difficulty understanding any concept without starting with the “whole picture”. The dyslexic learner thinks and understands the world in whole concrete images. If the whole concrete image has not been presented first and is available when the student is starting to learn the parts, the parts will not make any sense and the brain will discard them. The dyslexic needs to start with and see whole images and whole concepts, not the separated parts.
Second:
Difficulty with understanding the parts separate from the whole image of the word. If these students cannot see the parts within the whole and the whole image at the same time, they cannot make sense out of pieces or parts of information.
For example, demonstrating fractions. Use two oranges, keep one whole, cut the other up first into halves then into quarters, but always have the visual image of the whole orange present. The student must understand that the word fraction stands for the equal parts you have created from the whole.
Third:
Difficulty with the skills of hand printing, spelling, reading, and composing sentences correctly. This usually means that the dyslexic brain cannot transfer its concrete images adequately, which works with abstracts and uses the language of words and numbers.
Fourth:
The dyslexic thinker cannot learn, analyze, or work with what they do not understand or can process. This is a strong indication that although the students are taking in information and attempting to store it in whole concrete images, they are not using it for thinking or learning that requires abstract processing. Instead, they are memorizing the image of the information and giving it back verbatim in their answers. Basically, difficulty with understanding the parts separate from the whole image of the word.
Fifth:
The dyslexic learner does not always understand the abstract words, thoughts, and ideas they hear or read as they cannot easily turn them into whole concrete images they can visualize. Words must be memorized beforehand, so the brain does not have to lose time during reading figuring out how the word is decoded, what it sounds like or means. If the student spends too much time in decoding and recognizing the individual words, comprehension of the story is lost.
Sixth:
The student is forced to reread the passage over and over to understand what they have just read. Their short-term memory can consequently dump the information when the dyslexic has struggled too long to decode the words and find context in what they are reading. Therefore, the student will not be able to answer any questions about their reading assignment because the student has not processed the information correctly or stored it in long-term memory.
Seventh:
Difficulty in following instructions. Dyslexic students need very specific and complete instructions on how to do an assignment, project, test or complete a lesson. Again, this is about the necessity to see the whole picture.
They need to understand how the assignment starts and ends. They need to know: where to put their name, date and title; what kind of paper to use; pen, pencil, or computer; the date to hand it in; how the answers should look (for example: one word answers, a paragraph or a page); and any other issues that may be of concern for the student. Once the student has all the information they require they have the “whole picture” of what to do and can now see the parts so they are ready to start the assignment.
Also, the entire lesson or explanation must be given at one time on the same day. If this does not happen, the students will forget everything they should have learned to be able to work on and complete the assignment. Dyslexic students should always be allowed and encouraged to ask questions to fill in any gaps they have in understanding what they are required to do.
With Disparagement Some Can Start to Disassociate, Increase Shame, AND/OR Become INATTENTIVE to What They Are Reading
Researchers investigate why we “space out” and stop paying attention to the world around us when we become engrossed in social media posts. Sometimes when we are reading a good book, it’s like we are transported into another world and we stop paying attention to what’s around us. They further found that when affective network response is elicited outside of conscious awareness, brain response is diffuse and a specific location cannot be specified.
Over time, I observed those who experience disparagement- go from anger in nature, to hatred and resentment. According to Fr. Stephen Freeman, acknowledging our emptiness and brokenness, our failures and weakness, is an exercise in confronting shame. It can be quite painful – something we either avoid or cover over with self-loathing. Shame is not self-loathing. Indeed, the energy behind our self-loathing is simply pride (ϕιλαυτία). Self-loathing is consumed with the self and driven by its unwillingness to be that person. Bearing our shame is the willingness to acknowledge the truth of ourselves and our lives as a simple fact, without protest or promise of reform. It is enduring the simple fact of our lives, how we live them, how we fail, how we really do not love God or others, etc. It is not an exercise in comparative failure – it does not matter whether our weakness is similar to anyone else’s. Such comparisons are merely another exercise in self-justification, an avoidance of the fact, the shame, of our lives. ‘ Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. In this particular ancient tradition, anger [and shame], or any passion for that matter, is not an appropriate motivation for any action….Of course one must act, personally and politically, in whatever ways are possible and appropriate to make the world a better place, but not with anger burning in your heart. Anger blinds and deafens. Anger keeps us from thinking clearly and from paying attention to and loving the human beings in our presence right now. Anger drives away the Holy Spirit and consistently leads us to say and do things we later regret. Anger is not the way. We need to give the heart a way out of itself. This goes back to the idea of opening the heart to others. If you want to get out of the trap of anger or resentment, of bitterness, of depression, a key starting point is to find ways to serve another person, because when you really serve someone else, when you offer genuine compassion to another suffering person, the heart does not have time to be bitter, does not have time to loathe or to hold onto energies.

When a child with neurodifferences is learning something new or stressful, if mindset is perceived with anger (SFD-sympathetic functional dominance), we can observe lessened neuroplasticity of the midbrain (right lobe) and constant speed shifting (accelerated or and varied) of the prefrontal cortex, frontal lobe along with midbrain (left lobe) and emotional disorders with long-term memory problems. Likewise, if the mindset is perceived with shame (PFD-parasympathetic functional dominance), we can observe lessened neuroplasticity of the prefrontal cortex, frontal lobe along with posterior left lobe, and constant speed shifting (slow or and varied) of the midbrain (right lobe) along with more executive functioning issues and short-term memory problems or midbrain. We can attribute this constant speed shifting to the common difficulties of poor neuroplasticity. Likewise, the lacking a self-directed neuroplasticity such as positive Spiritual mindset such as mind trusting qualities of belief that’s and feeling safe and secure in their environment:

Exaggerated or Hyperbolical Expression for Three Levine: Justifying, Indwelling and Saving All Things BY His LOVE & Your Faith
According to Mark Briscoe, Jesus experienced anger and grief. His anger was a righteous anger for it had selfless reasons. He experience grief when Lazarus died but not for Lazarus but for the people who loved Lazarus. He knew he would raise Lazarus. But looking at the people who wept he was grieved. And you find the shortest verse in the Bible. “Jesus wept.” He didnt feel shame or guilt for they imply He would have sinned.
Conscience is the built-in power of our minds to pass moral judgments on ourselves, approving or disapproving our feelings, actions, thoughts, and plans, and telling us, if what we have done is assessed as wrong, that we deserve to suffer for it. Conscience has in it two elements: an awareness of certain things as being right or wrong, and an ability to apply laws and rules to specific situations. Conscience insists on judging us, and insist on judging us by the highest standard we know. So we sometimes call it God’s voice in the soul, and in a sense it is.
Paul says that God has written a certain knowledge of His laws on every human heart [Rom. 2:14-15], and experience confirms this. But conscience can be misinformed, or conditioned to regard evil as good, or become seared and dull through repeated sin [1 Tim. 4:2]. The judgments of conscience are only to be received as God’s voice when they match God’s own truth and law in Scripture. The conscience must be educated to judge scripturaly.

8 – Image 1.0 My ELBERT: Responsive Dysfunction (RSD) Checklist Functional Is A System Dominance Checklist illustration
“Neuroplasticity allows the neurons (nerve cells) in the brain to compensate for injury and disease and to adjust their activities in response to new situations or to changes in their environment” (Definition of Neuroplasticity, 2020). Also, I’m needing to mention developmental trauma and learning something new, switching content and context frequently!!
Trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event: accident, rape, or [learning with trauma]. Immediately after the event, shock, and denial are typical. Longer term reactions include unpredictable emotions, flashbacks, strained relationships, and even physical symptoms like headaches or nausea. A new study in Biological Psychiatry: Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuroimaging has used functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to examine the effects of acute stress and “polyvictimization,” or repeated traumas, on three brain networks in adolescents. Findings: Stress and trauma during adolescence can lead to long-term health consequences such as psychiatric disorders, which may arise from neurodevelopmental effects on brain circuitry. Specifically, the mental body is anger brain dominant and perceives in the heart everything related to learning with anger. The emotional body is shame brain dominant and perceives in the heart everything related to learning with shame. According to my good friend, Tom Heintz (An Emotional Code Practitioner-Creator of The Body Code) references Christine H., MS, LMHC (Hammond 2018), ‘Anxiety [anger and shame] is one emotion that can be passed down from one generation to the next. Also, there are 10 emotions that can also be inherited through family trauma, parental modeling, and/or abusive behaviors.’ For those who struggle with sensory triggers and learning stressors, like when experiencing reading or writing, these negatively perceived and filtered experiences with anger and shame, can cause a trauma type of developmental anxiety and sometimes even depression. In a study by conducted by Dahle et al. (2011), they found “between 17% and 24% of the boys with dyslexia were registered as anxious/depressed, with withdrawn behavior or somatic problems in the borderline and clinical areas” (p. 167). Another interesting point noted in this study by Undheim (as cited by Dahle et al., 2011) is that “teachers did not believe that they had dyslexia because their general achievement was too good” (p. 167). Dahle et al. (2011) tells us “behavior and emotional problems can be displayed differently in different settings, and it might be difficult for teachers to identify and be aware of internalizing problems in the classroom setting” (p. 168). Journal of Research in Special Educational Needs, 11(3), 162–170.] In 2018, I created My ELBERT Responsive System Dysfunction (RSD) Checklist, which is a Functional System Dominance Checklist. I have found in over 4 dozen students what I always knew; that they develop anger first, if not given a healthy, safe, and supportive environment for their anger. Also, anger can develop into shame. Then, the shame will be more dominant.
Therefore, My ELBERT is also a Learning Uniquinessess checklist and resources are important for those working with neurodifferences because shame is harder to address than anger. Shame is the defense for anger and survival (see Maslow Image 2.0a below) of some people before the point of safety. Some people though are less susceptible to shame and remain in anger. I have found more times than not where just anger has been marked; especially in younger students. Note: if anger and shame are not addressed at a young age, it can turn into hatred and grief. Also, anger appears anxiously (hyperarousal) and shame appears sadly depressed (hypoarousal) and both being varied arousal. Together with both anger and shame, someone can appear anxious and sad. With shame being the hardest, their body may appear calm but internally their mind can be ruminating on negative thoughts, feelings, ideas, and emotions which can be hard to know unless your child shares them with someone. This is why the checklist and interview is so important. I interview the students and their parents (teachers too preferably) where an [x] means most of the time in their learning environment and a [/] means some time in their learning environment (see image 1.0).
There are several other factors for successfully expelling learning apathy such as with gaining resilience (meaning), and motivation such as: sleep, diet, health and wellness, physical activity (body), regulation of vagus nerve (soul- body connection), sometimes even the spirit-soul-body connection (much older teens), gratitude including love of self and others (heart-connection). Also, the environment that most of us live in today causing sensory overload along to consistently multitasking and/or content & context-switching (handling 2 or more tasks at the same time) especially in this complex, non-connected (yet, connected), neurotoxic and EMF toxic infused environment- ALL decreasing our very own electromagnetism and vagal tone; all very much causing chaos in the mind.
What is the butterfly effect in simple terms? A property of chaotic systems (such as the learning atmosphere & the mind) by which small changes in initial conditions can lead to large-scale and unpredictable variation in the future state of the system. The field of study of chaos has its roots in differential equations and dynamical systems, the very language that is used to describe how any physical system evolves in the real world. The story of chaos is step by step, from simple non-chaotic systems, to different types of attractors, to fractal spaces and the language of unpredictability. The deterministic nature of these systems does not make them predictable.[8][9] This behavior is known as deterministic chaos, or simply chaos. In these cases, while it is often the most practically significant property, “sensitivity to initial conditions” need not be stated in the definition. Corpus Callosum- Crown Chakra
Corpus callosum- links both hemispheres and to varying degrees. Hence, students might have a lateral cognitive dominance of the functioning system- the students with the right-hemisphere dominance have Parasympathetic Functional System Dominance (PFD) and might have dysphonetic dyslexia because language and analysis (break down category and sequencing) which is a left-hemisphere task: therefore, students with right-hemisphere dominance might have high functioning autism, can have language deficits such as dsyphonetic (auditory) dyslexia.
The vagus nerve- is one of the cranial nerves that connect the brain to the body. More specifically, it’s the connection between the brain and the gastrointestinal tract. Likewise, the vagus nerve has two bunches of sensory nerve cell bodies, and it connects the brainstem to the body and vagal nerves carry somatic and visceral afferents that can alter the activity of the brainstem at the point of the reticular activation centers (RAS). Remember the CAN: RAS & ACC (shame)/HPA (anger) also allows the brain to monitor and receive information about several of the body’s different functions and matters of the mind including the perceptions and filters of the parasympathetic (shame), sympathetic (anger) & total (anger/shame) response system during stress such as reading. When you activate the chakras (energy centers-wheels, major 8 and soma/alta major- HPA (anger)/ACC(shame)) and normalize, balance the vagal tone and electromagnetic field, it will stop the “epigenome” which are again the collection of chemicals markers (focus: inherently dyslexia). This interruption allows the body to then calm, be healthy, resilient, gain positive attitudes (joy, bliss, and happiness) and make learning more pleasurable and effective; therefore, also the Reticular Activating System (RAS) needs to be activated via the vagus nerve (thymus- vagus nerve chakra).
The ascending reticular activating system (ARAS-THYMUS, & PONS, RAS/GUT,- chakras 13+) itself is on the cerebral cortex and is responsible for the achievement of super consciousness (higher transpersonal self) . Unilateral Neglect (or Hemispatial Neglect)/Total Functioning System Dominance (TFD)- student might have high-functioning autism along with other learning differences (below). Someone prominent in right-brain (ACC) has an unawareness of objects to one side of the body or personal space. In severe cases, a side can be completely ignored when carrying out certain tasks and everyday functions such as writing, so may have dysgraphia. But another important brain function is controlled by either the right side of your brain or the left side of your brain, depending on your handedness.
Sympathetic Functioning System Dominance (SFD) student has total (see below) or left corpus callosum dysfunction then having a total right or left-lateral hemisphere dominance (HPA), evaluation (specifically color, shape, size & dimension) is a right-hemisphere task; those with a Sympathetic Functioning System Dominance (SFD) therefore, might have autism, Irlen Syndrome, and dsyeidetic (visual) dyslexia.

Mind You Again: The Mind & Identify “Why” the Emotions doing PYAM (Prayer, Yoga, Affirmations & Mediations)
With just a Sympathetic Functional System Dominance (SFD), they perceive in the mind everything with anger during stressful experiences. When they have a Parasympathetic Functional System Dominance (PFD), in the mind, they filter and attune themselves to everything with shame. When we have both anger and shame in the mind (see child sample above), this is called a Total Learning System Dysfunction (TLSD) which creates: this creates almost complete soul-body disconnect (dysregulation) due to constant learning aka cognitive speed shifting (hyper-. hypo-, and varied) which tires out the brain’s (RAS) Rectangular Activation System (chakras 6-8th including soma and alta-major chakras), Pons (crown chakra), and Thymus (vagus nerve chakra) much quicker than the aligned and balanced learning brain and body which, in turn, lessens neuroplasticity. When our very own DNA generationally predispositions with dysfunctions of the Rectangular Activation System, Pons, and Thymus and for learning differences (anger and shame predispositions), ALL our systems and senses can have any dysfunctions, and therefore, we can actually have body-soul disconnection in the mind!

Mind you again, learning apathy is complicated and that the spirit-soul-body/connection-trust-love disconnection causes maladjustment and belonging in this world. The Reticular Activating System (RAS)- Ras/ HPA & ACC/Gut – to know, perceive, recognize, have, aware, cognizant, do laugh, reverence, ask, repent, reconciliation which is a network of neurons (hyper-, hypo-, or, varied) located in the brain stem that project anteriorly to the hypothalmus to mediate behavior such as sleep, memory, and learning; as well as, both posteriorly to the and directly to the cortex for activation of awake, desynchronized cortical EEG patterns. The reticular formation (part of pons-see below) is a set of interconnected nuclei that are located throughout the brain stem. The pons is part of the brainstem that in humans and other bipeds lies inferior to the midbrain, superior to the medulla oblongata and anterior to the cerebellum. ‘T cells are critical to the adaptive immune system’: Stopping Inflamation and Even Damage
The collaboration between Professor Adrian Liston (Babraham Institute) and Professor Matthew Holt (VIB and KU Leuven; i3S-University of Porto) has produced a targeted delivery system for boosting the numbers of specialized anti-inflammatory immune cells specifically within the brain to restrict brain inflammation and damage. The research team found that regulatory T cell numbers were low in the brain because of a limited supply of the crucial survival molecule interleukin 2, also known as IL2. Levels of IL2 are low in the brain compared to the rest of the body as it can’t pass the blood-brain barrier. Together the team devised a new therapeutic approach that allows more IL2 to be made by brain cells, thereby creating the conditions needed by regulatory T cells to survive. A ‘gene delivery’ system based on an engineered adeno-associated viral vector (AAV) was used: this system can actually cross an intact blood brain barrier and deliver the DNA needed for the brain to produce more IL2 production. Thymus Ancient Extracellular Signaling Molecule Matrix (ECM)

PTSD- Many advances in science have been made in the last decade to better explain the pathogenesis of PTSD. Advances in the brain imaging method have allowed us to study changes in patients’ brains in a non-invasive way. Recent studies have observed the activity or morphology changes of several brain regions in patients with PTSD, including the prefrontal lobe, amygdala, hippocampus. However, it is still unclear how these changes in brain regions are linked to PTSD. Further research needs to be conducted to understand the function of brain regions during the development of PTSD. Also, people can develop PTSD, depression, or both as a result of a major traumatic event. Pathological Demand Avoidance of PDA is becoming more widely recognized as a distinct profile of autism. British psychologist Elizabeth Newson came up with this term which describes an anxiety-driven need to be in control and avoid other people’s demands and expectations. Demand avoidance in the PDA profile looks different from what others on the autism spectrum experience because of its extreme nature and obsessive quality. Deficient emotional self-regulation (DESR) is a relatively new term used to describe the problem of impulsive emotion coupled with emotional self-regulation difficulties — issues long associated with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD or ADD). DESR may be new to the ADHD lexicon, however I argue that it is a core and commonly overlooked component of the disorder — and one that can help predict a patient’s impairments, and even improve diagnostic and treatment practices.1
Dysthymia- People with untreated ADHD can suffer from dysthymia — a mild but long-term mood disorder or sadness. It is often brought on by living with the frustrations, failures, negative feedback, and stresses of life due to untreated or inadequately treated ADHD. Major depressive disorder is a stress-related mood disorder associated with a disrupted HPA axis, and evidence suggests that the gut microbiota play a key role in modulating depression. Bipolar disorder is a severe psychiatric disorder with dysfunctions of neuroimmune system which also suggest the brain-gut-microbiota axis is an important physiological mechanism. Communication from gut to brain occurs through tryptophan, an essential building block of serotonin. Serotonin is key in regulating mood, eating, and sleep patterns. There is limited storage capacity for tryptophan in the brain, and a constant supply is required from the gut. It was once believed that tryptophan came strictly from diet alone, but what research has shown is that gut microbiota, particularly Bifidobacterium, produces tryptophan and increases its levels in the bloodstream. This study below has since been replicated, adding to global evidence linking the microbiome-gut-brain axis to stress and mental health disorders. Low diversity in the gut microbiota is now considered a significant biomarker for major depressive disorder. Other mental health and neurodegenerative disorders with significant microbiome-gut-brain ties include: post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, Parkinson’s disease, and autism. Other NDD’s
Most people are unaware of the connection between dyslexia and ADD or ADHD. It has been estimated that between 30 – 60% of kids with dyslexia also have either ADD or ADHD.
“Challenges with processing emotions start in the brain itself. Sometimes the working memory impairments of ADHD allow a momentary emotion to become too strong, flooding the brain with one intense emotion.” Thomas Brown, Ph.D.
Brain imaging studies demonstrate that chemicals that activate reward-recognizing circuits in the brain tend to bind on significantly fewer receptor sites in people with ADHD than do those in a comparison group. People with ADHD are less able to anticipate pleasure or register satisfaction with tasks for which the payoff is delayed.
Few doctors factor in emotional challenges when making an ADHD diagnosis. In fact, current diagnostic criteria for ADHD include no mention of “problems with emotions.” At other times, working memory impairments leave the person with insufficient sensitivity to the importance of a particular emotion because he or she hasn’t kept other relevant information in mind. Challenges with emotions start in the brain itself. Sometimes the working memory impairments of ADHD allow a momentary emotion to become too strong, flooding the brain with one intense emotion [emotional intensity or insensitivity]. At other times, the person with ADHD seems insensitive or unaware of the emotions of others. Brain connectivity networks carrying information related to emotion seem to be somewhat more limited in individuals with ADHD.
Gifted & Talented Plus 2e
The term “twice-exceptional,” also referred to as “2e,” is used to describe gifted children who, have the characteristics of gifted students with the potential for high achievement and give evidence of one or more disabilities as defined by federal or state eligibility criteria. Emotional Intensity (see pons above and insensitive below)- It is characterized by heightened and intense feelings, a constant stream of both positive and negative feelings – pain, distress, despair, fear, excitement, love, sadness or happiness – sometimes a mixture of many at the same time; For my program, it’s mainly: anger, shame, happiness (joy), grief, courage (might), and harmony!
Emotionally overexcitable (OE) is often the first to be noticed by parents. It is reflected in heightened, intense feelings, extremes of complex emotions, identification with others’ feelings, and strong affective expression (Piechowski, 1991). Other manifestations include physical responses like stomachaches and blushing or concern with death and depression (Piechowski, 1979). Emotionally overexcitable people have a remarkable capacity for deep relationships; they show strong emotional attachments to people, places, and things (Dabrowski & Piechowski, 1977). They have compassion, empathy, and sensitivity in relation-ships. Those with strong Emotional OE are acutely aware of their own feelings, of how they are growing and changing, and often carry on inner dialogs and practice self-judgment (Piechowski, 1979, 1991). Children high in Emotional OE‚ are often accused of “overreacting.” Their compassion and concern for others, their focus on relationships, and the intensity of their feelings may interfere with everyday tasks like homework or doing the dishes. Also- Dabrowski identified five areas of intensity-Psychomotor, Sensual [MORAL], Intellectual, Imaginational, and Emotional- please think of hyper-, hypo- and varied thymus as it relates to being balanced, regulated, calm and homeostasis can happen!!

They also have deep and holistic, list-form type thinking including: problem-solving and building/constructing abilities, competitive drive, computer skills, and gaming strategies. They seek our own endeavors of creative, imaginative, visual, artistic, and visionary skills while taking on inventing and innovating pursuits. I can also tell you that they may excel at thinking of “outside the box” solutions, seeing a problem from many sides, and patterns/spatial relationships along with the ability to think in 3 dimensions-using their strong evaluation skills and imagination (capable of observing patterns of: color, shape, size, dimension, rhythm, meter, tone, and chant). They have an innate ability for caring for people, animals and nature [Note: sometimes due to circumstances they go against their own nature in this respect]. Two Types Of Literacy Intervention Learners, I Observed That Go Most Unrecognized In Their Gifts:
- The Students with the “Engineering Mind”: a student who spends hours taking things apart and putting them back together, creating things, assembling and un-assembling ex. legos, blocks. They are setting things apart to see how they can fix them, problem-solution thinkers (descibed above). They are are natural engineers. It is inherent in their curious nature. As they grow, almost instinctively they show great interest in shapes (using evaluation kills descibed above) and numbers. - The Students with the “Technical Mind”: is what I describe as a “technical thinker” (similar to the “engineering minded” with divergent abilities). They can or tend to understand/provide complex information to readers/listeners in a way that they can understand and apply, even if they don’t have prior knowledge of the topic; Yet, they are truly interest-based learners at the same time. “Technical thinkers” can explain, especially verbally with a rather large lexicon knowledge, how a particular subject works or how and what’s needed to complete a task or project including: list-form, divergent, systematic thinking and somewhat linear-so they can express the topic that can be structured in the following step-by-step instructions. Note: sometimes needed to be given the “right tools for analysis” in order to express/communicate to others. This is my job! Note: I have noticed both of these types are “doers” and need autonomy (avoid disparagement); They need to be independently doing something to learn and apply their divergent reasoning (opposite of typical scientific method observing (first), then hypothesis.theory and test by moving, touching, following interest, writing something technical, application of skills, etc..). They, as well, can have a learning difference (neurodiversity). They are also “strong willed” and know technically what they have “in mind” to work on, so please let them be autonomous and independent in their work. They may have a strong purpose in their special interest that could change problems to the world!! As well, a possibly sensory processing sensitivity (SPS, as measured by the highly sensitive self-test), which corresponds most closely in theory to what we refer to as “hypersensitivity” or “high sensitivity”–check out sensitivity as a personality trait bearing the following characteristics
- :greater depth of information processing (see learning types below)
- heightened emotional reactivity and empathy (emotional intensity)

In case you are not completely sure about the difference between the two; the spirit is our power source. When we die, our spirits leave our bodies. Our spirit has emotions and memories and is where we experience God’s presence. Our soul is our mind, will, and emotions. This part of us dies with our bodies, though the memories are still carried in our spirit. I believe it is important to make distinctions between the two, in part because healing from each of them takes different approaches. Soulish wounds are common and are often in the realm of what I call experiential knowledge. We get our feelings hurt, and forgiveness or repentance helps to heal the pain. Sometimes facing the injuries in our soul is a necessary growth experience. Facing our fears, learning to handle anger, and controlling our responses to emotional pain are an integral part of the maturing process.
Injuries of the spirit, however, are more difficult to locate and more difficult to heal. In order to fully explore this kind of injury, the nature of the spirit must be understood. Our spirits are our life source. When we become born again, it happens in the arena of the spirit. God unplugs from our human power source and plugs into His power. It is in our spirits that we feel God’s presence and hear His voice. Injuries to our spirits can interrupt our ability to experience God fully, though not always. Basically, I’ve observed learning apathy when just stop caring for others and having emotional agility- They may believe nothing matters especially learning and school; as someone anonymous had written to me, ‘their soul implodes upon itself’!! There’s a lot to be said for Maria Montessori’s observations of trusting the universe along with ‘the child’. If we love and trust our children, this becomes their inner thoughts, ideas, feeling, intents, dreams, and perspectives. When they trust their own mind (including feelings, emotions, thoughts, ideas, perceptions), they can experience the “gifts of dyslexia” and learn anything the way they learn best.

Disorders of consciousness (DOC) along with Total Functional Dominance System (TFD), in my mind, means the leb is not matured, complete, and unstable leading to unstable health and wellness which lends to diseases, illnesses, learning differences and overall problems and complications in peoples’ lives. One cause of spiritual apathy is sin in the believer’s life. When David sinned, he felt separated from God (Psalm 51:11). As he confessed his sin to God, David prayed for God to “renew a steadfast spirit” within him (verse 10), and he had this request: “Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me” (verse 12). NEEDING TO BE ADDRESSED- Learning Differences including Our Electromagnetic System
All of our senses and corresponding systems give us vital information about our surroundings. Our EM field gives us “sense” included in our interoception and exteroception. Exteroception is sensitivity to stimuli originating outside of the body (Hyper-, Hypo-, Varied). EFFECTUAL PRAYER B — 1: ἐνεργέω (Strong’s #1754 — Verb — energeo — en-erg-eh’-o ) “to put forth power, be operative, to work” (its usual meaning), is rendered by the verb “to work effectually,” or “to be effectual,” in the AV of 2 Corinthians 1:6; Galatians 2:8; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; in each case the RV translates it by the simple verb “to work” (past tense, “wrought”). In James 5:16 the RV omits the superfluous word “effectual,” and translates the sentence “the supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working,” the verb being in the present participial form. Here the meaning may be “in its inworking,” i.e., in the effect produced in the praying man, bringing him into line with the will of God, as in the case of Elijah. The vestibular system is a sensory system that is responsible for providing our brain with information about motion, head position, and spatial orientation; it also is involved with motor functions that allow us to keep our balance, stabilize our head and body during movement, and maintain posture. Awareness of body balance and movement are monitored by the vestibular system. The vestibular senses (the sensations of body rotation and of gravitation and movement) arise in the inner ear; the sense organs are the hair cells that send out signals over the auditory nerve. The somatosensory system is the part of the sensory system concerned with the conscious perception of touch, pressure, pain, temperature, position, movement, and vibration, which arise from the muscles, joints, skin, and fascia. The tactile stimuli are detected by mechanoreceptors and produce sensations of touch and pressure. The proprioceptive system is located in our muscles and joints. It provides us with a sense of body awareness and detects/controls force and pressure. The proprioceptive system also has an important regulatory role in sensory processing, as proprioceptive input can assist in controlling responses to sensory stimuli. Tactile sense related to touch, specifically the information received from varying pressure or vibration against the skin.
